Get The Look: Glow like Rihanna

 Step one:

cleanse, moisturize and prime the skin, this will prepare it for foundation giving it a smooth and flawless finish.

Step two:

Apply foundation evenly all over face using a brush, sponge or your fingers.

Step three:

Use a concealer one to two shades lighter than your skin tone under the eye area to cover up under eye circles.  Using a lighter concealer will also bring light to the face making it appear more bright and youthful looking.

Step four:

Define and sculpt your browns, making sure to fill them in with a powder for a more natural look if necessary.

Step five:

Use a golden colored cream or powder highlighter, apply it to the cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the fore head, on chin and on the brow bone to give you a sun kissed glow.  A great product to use for the perfect glow is Black Opals touch and glow face and body stick in Nude Glow

Step six:

Use a skin tone color shadow all over the lid, this is called a base shadow, next apply a soft brown into the crease blending it really well

Step seven:

Apply black liner to upper and lower lash line keeping thin and precise, apply faux lashes (optional) and mascara to add definition.

Step eight:

Use a natural color based blush to compliment and sculpt the cheeks.

Step nine:

Apply a soft pink lipstick to the lips and add a clear gloss on top for shine or you can use a soft pink lip gloss.

Now you have the look!

Lancome Gold Fascination Collection & interview with Fashion Photographer Raphael Mazzuco

Review: Graftobian cream blush palette

Hey ladies and gents! another Graftobian review for you.  I ordered the cream blush palette which I thought would be great for my wedding kit, to give my bridal clients a more natural look and glow to the cheeks.  This palette comes with five colors, Peach Blush, Vienna Rose, Raspberry Wine, Autumn  Breeze and Cherry Glaze,  The Graftobian cream blushes are very creamy and smooth, glides onto the cheek and can be blended using a sponge or your fingers.  You can set with a translucent powder for extra longevity, the blushes are an HD formula so it will be great for television, print and photos.  These blushes are great for light to medium skin tones and range from cool, warm and neutral undertones.Blushes are also sold separately at Camera Ready Cosmetics

Review: Skin MD Natural

The people at Skin MD Natural were kind enough to send me a bottle of their moisturizer to try out and review.  Skin Md Natural is "A shielding lotion, a lotion that provides a natural barrier on top of the skin to protect it from outside chemicals and irritants. In addition it also acts to keep the moisture and the oils in the skin, so that the skin can heal itself."  I have been using this cream for a little over a week now mainly on my face, elbows, knees where I have the most dryness, and on my hands where I suffer from eczema from time to time.   This lotion reminds me of Make Up For Ever HD Primer when it comes to consistency, feel, and color.
Once applied your hands feel very soft and nourished.  I was starting to have flare ups from my eczema and since using this lotion my hands didn`t itch as much and my skin wasn`t as dry, it felt very relieved and soothed which I loved, I tried many different creams for my eczema and the Skin Md by far works the best for me.  One thing I did notice is  that after awhile  my skin would still look dry but feel hydrated and soft, as african americans our skin tends to look ashy and dry, especially around our elbows and knees, so we apply rich creams that contains lots of oils like shea butter, cocoa butter, Original Keri lotion and other lotions that have a high oil content, I usually add a little olive oil to get that shine and glow and to get rid of the ashy look. Ideally you should apply the Skin MD every two to eight hours until moisture level improves, then just once every twelve to twenty four hours.  Since using this lotion my hands have definitely improved, I have always had rough hands and now they are softer and smooth, I think sometimes my hands crave this lotion  (laugh) You can purchase one bottle or purchase in bulk or gallon, they also have Skin MD with Spf.  To learn more about this product click here

Razor Vs Hair removal cream

Razor vs hair removal cream, what do you prefer,  I used to do the razor and shaving cream thing, I gained a few nicks and cuts that left a few scars, missed a few spots while shaving, on top of that, it`s very time consuming.  Then I discovered Nair hair removal cream just spread it on wait a few minutes and wash it off! how easy is that, despite the awful smell, it works for me.  A lot of people question if hair removal cream is safe,
hair removal creams work by chemically dissolving the root of the hair inside the hair follicle. I know it sounds kinda creepy, but if you follow the directions carefully and test a small area first to see how you will react you will be just fine.  I have been using hair removal creams for a few years now, I use it on my legs and my arms and I love the results.  You can find hair removal creams at your local drug store.  Not a big fan of razors or hair removal creams, you can always wax! Ouch, I just got used to waxing my eye brows, I can`t imagine my legs and arms.

Since I ran out of moisturizer to use on my clients, I decided to go ahead and try the Graftobian Oxyderm Moisturizer since hearing great reviews on it.  This product is wonderful!  I absolutely love the way it makes your skin feels super smooth and soft like butter.  The Oxyderm Moisturizer is great for all skin types, it won`t leave a greasy  film or residue that most moisturizing creams do.  It leaves the skin hydrated, providing it with vital energy to keep skin young and healthy looking.  Some of the great moisturizing ingredients the Graftobian Oxyderm moisturizer contains are, Shea butter, Glycerin, Water and Aloe.

  Apply the product using a foundation brush or hands, gently messaging into face and neck, Oxyderm refines your skin, improves texture, clarity and tone, reduces puffiness and improve the overall radiance of your skin. This is one product that I will definitely add to my skin care regimen.  I purchased the moisturizer from Camera Ready Cosmetics where I get most of my Graftobian products for a little less. 

The Oxyderm moisturizer comes in two sizes 1oz which is pretty small and cost $16. I compared it to my Make Up For Ever HD Powder and they are almost the same size, the moisturizer is a few grams larger.  You can also get it in 2oz jars or purchase samples for $3.99

E.L.F High Definition Powder

 I must say I was quite excited to purchase the E.L.F Hd powder out of curiousity.  They have been coming out with some great stuff in their studio line but I am not a fan of their new HD powder.  When I applied the powder to set my foundation, it literally turned my face orange almost red.  It looked like I was wearing some type of halloween makeup, I was a burnt orange color and very matte, didn`t look nice at all.  The e.l.f Hd powder looks very transparent when you apply it, but if you take a picture you will look like a complete ghost, like you  took baby powder and splashed it all over your face.  The only great thing about this product is the cute packaging, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I absolutely love this foundation, it`s so light weight and lasts a long time.  Gives you nice coverage, with a natural look.  I must say this may be one of my favourite drug store foundations, very affordable and can be found at your nearest drug store or where Maybelline products are sold. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a good affordable foundation.

E.L.F Studio Brush Holder

E.L.F has come out with new brush holders in their Studio line. You can purchase the small one which is just a single holder or the large one that is three singles put together.  I got the large one and I absolutely love it.  It is definitely worth the $15.  This stylish brush holder is all black with the eye lips face written on it and sturdy plastic dividers that kind of look like glass in it.  I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good brush holder.  Not only can it hold brushes but you can use it to store your pencils, cotton pads, lip glosses, almost anything. I will definitely order another one.
